U8 Soccer Development Plan

U7 and U8s Within Mini Soccer Rules
Concentrate on individual soccer skills :- ball control, with feet , head and body. Introduce the laws of the game : foul play , throw ins , free kicks , handling etc. Moving players around in different playing positions to develop all round playing ability and understanding of team rules, playing for enjoyment, WINNING IS NOT THE ISSUE. Introduce light stretching routines to develop good warm-up and cool down practices. Small sided games, 5 a side ,to give each player maximum contact with ball during play. Limit number of games against opposition clubs. To train with U7s.

Clough u8 Orange continued their good start with a 4-0 win over Dewsbury Rangers as Bradley Wild scored a hat-trick. Goalkeeper Jamie Cawtheray only had one save to make as the defence of Troy Markham Smith, Joe Wood-house and Conner Teal controlled the forwards. The midfield of Ashley Woods and Laurence Killey created chances. MoM Wild opened the scoring and added after beating three men and completed his hat-trick after good work by George Woodcock and Dominic Hale, who rounded off the scoring.

CloughU8 Black continued their wining ways with a 3-0 win over Dewsbury Rangers. The defence of Declan Sheehan, James Leadbeater and Ethan Gomersall tackled well, while goalkeeper Guy Hardwick pulled off two good saves. After the break George Spencer gave Clough the lead after good work from Jack Hinchliffe, who hit the second and Lewis Bodie completed the scoring. MoM was captain Ben Twohig, who played in three different positions.
