Player and Coach Development Policy
Under 11's and 12's-Within League Rules
Continue individual soccer skills and team work coaching, concentrate on technical ability and tactics, monitor improvement of and promote individuals responsibility for improvement. Increase the stretching routines to include light stamina training, continue warm up and cool down sessions before and after games as well as training sessions. Begin to place players in positions of play (for continuity) but still move them around within the team occasionally. Organise into 1st and 2nd teams (within league rules), 1st team coach to have first pick of the age group, players not required for 1st team duty in that week to be included in the 2nd team squad. Continue the theme that winning is fun without pressure to succeed, success is expected more in 1st team than in the 2nd.
Where possible play friendly games where the 1st and 2nd teams can be mixed to make up teams, this promotes teamwork throughout the age group, training games would be a good starting point for this. All players in these age groups to train together.

11th Sept Clough 6-4 Elland
Clough U12As raced into a 3-0 lead against Elland courtesy of a hat-trick from MoM Joel Padgett.
Elland replied with two second half goals, before Callum Hall (two) and Jordan Holland put the game out of reach. Captain Jack Hinchcliffe was solid at the back. Joe Hanson and Dominic Cleghorn had fine games.

West Riding Under 12 Junior Shield at County Headquarters Woodlesford.
Farsley Celtic 0 -4 Howden Clough
Calum Hall fired a hat-trick as an emphatic display of controlled football saw Clough win the West Riding Under 12 Junior Shield at County Headquarters Woodlesford.
Clough took the game to Farsley with JonJo Keogh, Jordan Holland and Jake Longstaffe taking hold off midfield. Farsley struggled to hold Joel Padgett and Joe Hanson on the right but Clough failed to capitalise on their possession. When the breakthrough came, Hall struck after good approach work but Farsley proved worthy opponents.
With Jack Hinchliffe and Jack Fisher in charge at the back Clough pressed for more goals and Domonic Cleghorn and Levi Mallin worked tirelessly down the left.
As the half time approached Clough stuck again when Hall beat the goalkeeper at the near post with an outstanding strike.
Farsley produced renewed effort in the second half but couldn't break Clough down and goalkeeper Lewis Sykes was always secure.
Clough brought on Joel Moore, Ryan Prince and Elliott Bray before Hall completed his hat-trick with a clinical finish but the best was saved until the end when Padgett scored with a spectacular drive.
Declan Goodman and Declan Bickers were unfortunate not to take the field but contributed with non stop encouragement.
Clough thank all their supporters and WRCFA for their hospitality.
