U11 Soccer Development Plan

Player and Coach Development Policy
Under 11's and 12's-Within League Rules
Continue individual soccer skills and team work coaching, concentrate on technical ability and tactics, monitor improvement of and promote individuals responsibility for improvement. Increase the stretching routines to include light stamina training, continue warm up and cool down sessions before and after games as well as training sessions. Begin to place players in positions of play (for continuity) but still move them around within the team occasionally. Organise into 1st and 2nd teams (within league rules), 1st team coach to have first pick of the age group, players not required for 1st team duty in that week to be included in the 2nd team squad. Continue the theme that winning is fun without pressure to succeed, success is expected more in 1st team than in the 2nd.
Where possible play friendly games where the 1st and 2nd teams can be mixed to make up teams, this promotes teamwork throughout the age group, training games would be a good starting point for this. All players in these age groups to train together.

Clough U11Bs derby with Batley B started at a fast pace with attacks from both sides. A good run and cross from Kayfan Mitchell resulted in the opening goal from Tyler Cooper but, despite the solid defending from Tyrone Pringle, Ethan Yardley and Jack Butcher, Batley equalised.
Patrick Howgate set-up Yardley to score a second. Kieran Thomas, James Backhall and Paatrick Masso Walsh defended well and Mitchell put them 3-1 ahead.
Solid second half displays from Pringle, Daniel Witty and Arron Sheehan prevented Batley from getting back in the game.
Second half goalkeeper James Butterworth produced crucial late saves as Clough remain unbeaten.
MoM went to Butterworth and Ben Rhodes with Mitchell given the fair play award.

Other good performances included defensive tackles from Patrick Masso Walsh, Jack Butcher and James Blackhall.
Hamza Naeem and Mark Wilby also shone on their debuts.
