U10 Soccer Development Plan

    U10 Player Development Policy
Continue build on individual soccer skills but with more emphasis on each individual improving their ability, still moving players around in different playing positions continuing to develop all round playing ability and understanding of team roles, still playing for enjoyment, introduce the idea that winning is fun, no pressure to succeed.
Increase stretching routines (still light) to continue development of good warm up and cool down practices. Begin specific coaching practices :- attacking play, defensive play. Small sided games, 7 a side moving to 11 a side towards the end of the season. Increase number of games against opposition clubs towards end of season. Begin to organize into 1st and 2nd teams with players moving between the two. Start training with the older age groups getting ready for league football

Howden Clough C  v Heckmondwike Clough made an impressive start with a 4-0 home win over Heckmondwike. Clough played slick football with Juvahne Lewis, Jack Butcher, Tyrone Pringle and Jacob Naylor on debut.  Demi Nicholls gave Clough the lead and Lewis followed with a tremendous shot to made it 2-0.  Butcher was unlucky not to score.  Strong defence from Saad Aziz and James Blackhall kept Heckmondwike out and goalkeeper Harry Oates had little to do.  Just before half time Lewis scored again after a sole run and shot.  In the second half Oates went close, Pringle and Naylor played excellent football and Butcher made a sparkling save before Lewis scored from a deflection for a debut Hat-trick.  Player of the match was Nicholls.
