U10 Soccer Development Plan

U10 Player Development Policy
Continue build on individual soccer skills but with more emphasis on each individual improving their ability, still moving players around in different playing positions continuing to develop all round playing ability and understanding of team roles, still playing for enjoyment, introduce the idea that winning is fun, no pressure to succeed.
Increase stretching routines (still light) to continue development of good warm up and cool down practices. Begin specific coaching practices :- attacking play, defensive play. Small sided games, 7 a side moving to 11 a side towards the end of the season. Increase number of games against opposition clubs towards end of season. Begin to organize into 1st and 2nd teams with players moving between the two. Start training with the older age groups getting ready for league football.

Two wins saw Clough U10s clinch the Charles Rice League title in their first season.
Team One beat Normanton 3-0. A solo effort from Joshua Twohig put Clough in front and he completed a hat trick. Ryan Adams and Alex Gaunt were solid at the back and goalkeeper Josh Wright kept another clean sheet. Adam Milnere, Tom Duffey and Lewis Redick had outstanding games, while MOM Mikee Gash had a brilliant shot saved.
Team Two beat Normanton 3-1. Myles Cleggs throw was headed on by Kieran Marr for Bradley Adams to score. Goalkeeper Ashley Peel made several fine saves, ably assisted by MOM Joseph Pinder and Scott Atkinson. The visitors equalised but Jack Bradford struck twice to make the game safe before James Wilcock went close.
Clough would like to thank coaches Bob Duffy and Carl Milburn and referees Dean Adams and Steve Wilcock.
