Clough went on to their last game of the season last Tuesday knowing that victory would put them level on top with Sheffield F.C  but would loose out on a far superior goal difference for promotion into the premier league on their first attempt since been promoted into the North East Regional Women's League. Clough started the better creating several chances and broke the deadlock on ten minutes when Emma Rutherford broke down the right and crossed the ball for Louise Ikin to head home. Gemma Howells superb through ball  saw Sarah Woods strike tipped onto the post by the keeper and Rutherford hit the rebound just over the bar. Clough dominated but failed to capitalize on chances created and then against the run of play Keighley equalized after a superb run down the right cut inside and hit over the advancing keeper. The visitors hit a purple patch and only stout defending denied them and then in the closing minutes Kelly Rushforth pushed forward and hit the post
