Player and Coach Development Policy
Under 15's / Under 16's Player & Coach Development Policy
Continue the skills and technical coaching, increase pressure to continue self development by the individual. (Fitness training outside the club sessions). Insist on the  right playing attitude - response to adverse decisions, provocation from the opposition, positive not negative criticism of team members, improve players knowledge of the laws of the game.
Continue target setting (targets should have higher expectations), also continue the discipline in attendance and attitude to the club rules and policies. Introduce the expectation that the players will progress to play in the clubs open age teams.
All players in these age groups to train together, with the under 16's attending u17/Open Age training sessions towards the end of the season.

Howden Clough Girls v Huddersfield Town

League Match under 15’s Sunday 5.10.08

A fantastic match was given by two very good sides, Huddersfield scored first showing pace against the Clough defence. Two minutes later Sammy Chamberlain broke through to equalise, this was followed by a Clough second from Heather Haigh. Then Huddersfield scored again only for Haigh to get her second, three two to Clough. Clough keeper Emma Cawthrey then made two brilliant saves before Huddersfield pulled level. Chloe Sheridan controlled the midfield whilst giving good opportunities to the Clough attack. Captain Charlotte Oates made some crucial tackles in defence working hard against the Huddersfield attack. The second half was very tight with great performances from Chantelle Brennan, Laura Broadbent, Jade Thomas and Beth Allsop. Clough were unable to prevent a fine shot into the top corner which gave Huddersfield the four three win. Players of the day were awarded to Chloe Sheridan and Olivia Saville, for two outstanding performances.

 First win of the season for Howden Clough under 15 girls.

Sunday 2 November 2008, Clough at home to Thornes Girls.

Thornes scored within the first minute to shock Clough into action. Beth Allsop shot and the keeper could only palm the ball into the path of Heather Haigh who made no mistake. A second shot by Allsop gave Clough the lead at halftime. The Clough defence held tight with good performances from Roxanne Stainburn, Emilly Bretton, Jade Thomas, Leanne Foley and keeper Chantelle Brennan. Chloe Sheridan hit one at pace which was fumbled giving Clough their third. Capt Charlotte Oates, Sammy Chamberlain and Olivia Saville worked hard, giving solid support in all areas of the game. A terrific shot by Laura Broadbent finished Thorne's off, giving Clough a 4 – 1 win. Player of the day was awarded to a well deserved Roxanne Stainburn.

 Clough under 15 girls through to next round of cup. Hemsworth Miners 1 Howden Clough 8, Hatricks were scored by Laura Broadbent and Chloe Sheridan in a fantastic game of football. Clough played together as a team, passing and running off the ball for some great chances. Clough keeper Chantelle Brennan was rarely tested due to good defensive work from Emily Bretton, Leanne Foley, Roxanne Stainburn and Catherine Lee.

Captain Charlotte Oates and attacker Heather Haigh worked hard to also score a goal each. Beth Allsop on the left wing gave Hemsworth girls no rest, as she repeatedly beat the right back to make some excellent crosses. And finally Jade Thomas worked the mid-field constantly winning the ball, heading and tackling. A great performance by all players who are looking forward to the next cup round.

Sunday 18th January 2009.
Howden Clough under 15 girls travel to Goole. Clough battled extremely hard with only eleven players, the attack was dominated by Chloe Sheridan and Laura Broadbent. Twenty minutes into the first half Chantelle Brennan laid on an accurate pass to Heather Haigh, who with still much to do, cleverly lobbed the Goole keeper giving Clough the lead. In defence Emily Bretton, Catherine Lee, Leanne Foley and Roxy Stainburn battled well, but called on an athletic save by Capt Charlotte Oates, just before half time. The second half continued with more pressure from Clough but they were unable to extend their lead. Great performances were also given by Abbie Meadly and Jade Thomas. Despite all Clough’s efforts they were unable to hold on to the one goal lead, conceding ten minutes before time. Never the less Clough gave a great performance and could have taken all three points.

Howden Clough Girls v Pool Girls
 in exciting Cup match. Sunday 25 January 2009 at Pool Bank.
Clough got off to a flying start, scoring within the first two mins with a well hit left foot shot by Beth Allsop.
Both sides then battled very well in muddy conditions, Clough were on top most of the time but Cloe Sheridan was unable to capitalise on the first goal with some good shots only match by the saves form the Pool keeper.
The second half was a reverse of the first, Pool scoring two goals within mins of the restart. Cloughs heads did not go down and they were rewarded with a goal from Lara Broadbent, who finished cleanly with a fantastic strike.

2 -2 and all to play for, all girls giving everything, the ball came to Clough keeper Charlotte Oates who at the crucial moment slipped and Pool scored the winner.

Howden Clough v Huddersfield Town
Under 15 Girls
League Game Sunday 1 February 2009.
Assistant coach Karen Sheridan worked hard encouraging the Clough girls in sub zero conditions,
until Huddersfield broke through the defence on two occasions giving Clough
keeper Chantelle Brennan no chance. The Clough defence then held on with great
performances from Roxy Stainburn, Katherine Lee, Jade Thomas and Emily Bretton.
Clough continued to battle in the freezing conditions with Chloe Sheridan and Beth Allsop leading
from the front, a number of attempts by forwards Laura Broadbent and Heather Haigh
were well saved by the Town keeper.
Town then scored again, giving them a three goal cushion. Haigh managed to
break through and score a brilliant goal, for the final 15 minutes Town held on under Clough pressure. Town were strong and well organised but Clough worked very hard giving a gritty display.
 Final score 3 -1 to Huddersfield Town.

Howden Clough under 15 girls, v Normanton Girls.
Clough girls played well as a team, the defence of Roxy Stainburn, Emilly Bretton, Catherine Lee and Abby Medlock protected their goal keeper Chantelle Brennan, with some excellent defensive tackles.
Captain Charlotte Oates scored first for Clough with a determined challenge beating the Normanton keeper. Chloe Sheridan tormented the Normanton defence with great skill and eventually was rewarded with a great individual goal. Normanton pulled a goal back at the start of the second half only for Devon Lawless and Laura Broadbent to score giving Clough girls a convincing win of 4 -1.
The clough midfield was dominated by Jade Thomas and Leanne Foley.

Sunday 22nd March 09.
 Thornes Girls v Howden Clough Girls.
 Howden Clough could only muster ten girls for the West Riding League Match, never the less they began very lively.
 A great pass from Devon Lawless enabled Captain Charlotte Oates to accurately place the ball in the bottom left corner. Clough was awarded a free kick some 25 yards out, Chloe Sheridan stepped up with a clinical top corner finish. Great defence by Chantelle Brennan, Leanne Foley, Roxanne Stainburn and Katherine Lee, kept the Thornes girls frustrated in the first half. At the start of the second half Laura Broadbent sustained a nasty knee injury and was unable to continue. Heather Haigh and Emma Cawthrey chased everything up front causing Thornes numerous problems. Clough then found themselves under pressure and was unable to prevent Thornes equalising. Brennan in goal made some superb saves for a well deserved point. Chloe Sheridan earned herself player of the day with an outstanding performance. Kevin Oates H.C.G.F.C.

Howden Clough under 15 girl’s v Goole girlsSunday March 2009
9 Clough girls faced 10 Goole girls in a nail biting West Riding League game,
ten minutes after kick off Clough Captain Charlotte Oates played an excellent pass for Laura Broadbent to finish clinically. Leanne Foley, Catherine Lee, Jade Thomas and Roxy Stainburn controlled the Clough centre and back. Heather Haigh was called into defence and played outstandingly stopping numerous Goole attacks. Chantelle Brennan and Emma Cawthrey battled well. But Goole came back strongly and equalized, only for Broadbent to score again just before halftime. Goole began the second half with a goal seconds from the kick off catching the Clough girls unawares. 2 -2 and all to play for, great performance by both sets of girls, well done to all involved in this very entertaining game of football.

Howden Clough under 15 girls v Bradford City Girls. Sunday 19th April 2009.
Clough could only bring nine players to the game and for the first half, held and matched a strong Bradford Team. Clough goal keeper Chantelle Brennan made some fantastic saves, whilst some brilliant defending was carried out by Jade Thomas, Emily Bretton and Captain Charlotte Oates. Laura Broadbent worked excellently up front chasing every ball, twenty minutes into the first half she cleverly beat the Bradford defence to give Clough the lead. Further great football was produced by Beth Allsop, Chloe Sheridan, Olivia Saville and Heather Haigh. Just prior to halftime Bradford scored giving the Bradford girls a much needed lift.
The second half saw Clough run out of steam and the two girl shortage took its toll, Bradford went on to score a further five goals, even though Clough continued to battle and commit to every challenge.
Final score six one to Bradford, who on balance deserved the win.

Thursday 23rd April 2009.
 Howden Clough under 15 girls v Normanton girls.
West Riding League Game, at Normanton. Normanton got off to a good start with an early goal, only for Clough to win a penalty which was easily scored by Chloe Sheridan. Sheridan then scored a second direct from a corner and under the crossbar. The second half saw Beth Allsop beat the Normanton defence for a well deserved 3 – 1 lead. Normanton then came back strong scoring two good goals. Both sides battled to try for the decider but neither were able to break the deadlock.
Final score 3 – 3.

Sunday 26th April 2009
Howden Clough under 15 girls v Bradford City Academy girls.
West Riding girls league match. Clough at the bottom verses Bradford at the top.15 minutes into the game Clough were 2 nil down, Captain Charlotte Oates scored twice to bring Clough back into the game. Clough keeper Chantelle Brennan made some fantastic saves to keep Clough in the game. Defenders Emilly Bretton, Jade Thomas, Roxanne Stainburn, Katherine Lee and Heather Haigh, fought for every ball not allowing the Bradford girls to settle. The second half began with another Bradford goal, only for Laura Broadbent to pull Clough level after some great runs. Chloe Sheridan worked hard to control the midfield with the help from Beth Allsop, Olivia Saville and Devon Lawless. Less than a minute to go and Oates hit a powerful shot beating the Bradford keeper for her hat- trick, a win and a well deserved player of the day.
