Howden Clough U13 Girls had there first game at 11
aside and was an excellent winning start to the campaign following being
last season Division 2 winners and moving up into Division 1.
Clough played a strong Oulton Owls side but Clough started the brighter with
Captain Chloe Sheridan having 2 good efforts of one that went inches over
the post. As the half went on Oulton made Clough Keeper Emma Cawtheray make
two good saves one leading to Clough's first and fine pass out to full back
Jade Thomas who played in Casey Teale who made the cross for
Player of the day Tyler Marshall to side foot home.
Just before the break a lapse of concentration Oulton were level. In the
second half Clough dominated but found it hard to break through Oulton's
defence. A Chloe Sheridan cross saw Charlotte Oates side foot home and
within minutes a good one two from Laura Broadbent and Sheridan to fire

Howden Clough under 13’s girl’s football report, Saturday
3rd March 2007.
West Riding Cup Game against York Girl’s at York.
York 1 Howden Clough 0. A nail biting effort by all the Clough Girls.
Minutes into the game, a great through ball from Laura Broadbent gave Alice
Senior a brilliant opportunity which went just wide of the York goal. A well
crossed corner from York gave Clough defence a problem, but Clough keeper
Emma Cawthrey bravely rescued the situation. Clough managed to release Tyler
Marshall, who after showing her excellent pace, shot but the York keeper
pulled off a good save to deny her.
Both sides battled hard and cancelled each other out, good defending by
Charlotte Oates and Leanne Foley for Clough kept it all square at the half
way mark.
The second half continued in the same vain, with good efforts from Capt
Chloe Sheridan and Sammy Chamberlain, almost beating the York defence.
Half way into the second half York managed to scramble a goal, giving them a
one nil lead.
Clough’s heads did not go down as they tried even harder to get the better
of York, Jade Thomas, Riahanon Sheehan, Christina Pichowicz, Catherine Lee,
Olivia Saville and Emily Bretton all deserve praise.
Neither team deserved to lose this fantastic match; this is the closest any
team has come to beating York Girls this season.
