Player and Coach Development Policy
Under 11's and 12's-Within League Rules
Continue individual soccer skills and team work coaching, concentrate on technical ability and tactics, monitor improvement of and promote individuals responsibility for improvement. Increase the stretching routines to include light stamina training, continue warm up and cool down sessions before and after games as well as training sessions. Begin to place players in positions of play (for continuity) but still move them around within the team occasionally. Organise into 1st and 2nd teams (within league rules), 1st team coach to have first pick of the age group, players not required for 1st team duty in that week to be included in the 2nd team squad. Continue the theme that winning is fun without pressure to succeed, success is expected more in 1st team than in the 2nd.
Where possible play friendly games where the 1st and 2nd teams can be mixed to make up teams, this promotes teamwork throughout the age group, training games would be a good starting point for this. All players in these age groups to train together.

U12 Match Reports

Howden Clough u12s 2-1 Dewsbury Rangers (3 Dec 06)
The U12 Girls earned a fine 2-1 win against a well organised Dewsbury Rangers side.
Rangers went in front with a well worked goal, despite Rosie Hetherington trying to collect the ball from the feet of the Dewsbury striker.
Tanisha Barrett and Jenny Senior were solid against the wind as the first half ended 1-0.
Solid defending came from Jade Fisher Wilkins and strong runs from Paola Cavellaro and captain Ellie Kissane. Levi Mcleod was a threat up front, while Grace Farrar's 25 yard shot hit a post.
The equaliser came 15 minutes into the second half when player of the match Olivia Lajca found Helena Egan unmarked on the left and she crashed the ball into the top right corner.
Clough pressed hard and with only a minute of normal time remaining, Farrar picked up the ball on halfway, beat two Rangers defenders and coolly slotted home to earn Clough a long awaited victory.

Glen Juniors 0-2 Clough U12 Girls ( 7 Jan 07)
The U12 Girls earned a deserved 2-1 victory over Glen. Clough took the lead in the 10th min when Levi McLeod converted a cross from Grace Farrar. Clough were awarded a penalty for handball but failed to take advantage after the referee forced Farrar to take the spot kick outside the area, 12yds from goal.
There was excellent support play and passing from Ellie Kissane and Heleena Egan and solid defending Jenny Senior and Paola Cavallaro. Goalkeeper Rosie Hetherington was confident. Clough had a second half goal disallowed, Egan struck the crossbar twice, Jessica Burrows went close, while Tanisha Barrett played in different positions. Farrar sealed the victory with a fine strike from a free-kick from 15 yds out.

SKEGNESS TROPHY SUCCESS
The U12 Girls won their league, winning six out of seven matches to receive the Leicester City Cup from Lee Sharpe.
Alice Senior scored the only goal of Cloughs first match against Fens Pool. Senior and Laura Broadbent were on target as Clough beat Durham County B 2-0 before a Broadbent brace sealed a 2-1 victory over Langold Juniors.
Broadbent went one better in Cloughs next game as she fired a hat trick in a 3-0 victory over Southwell Whites before Clough dropped their only points, losing 2-0 to Worksop.
Clough completed their title success, beating Durham County A and Southwell Blacks 1-0 with a goal from Broadbent.
The U12 Girls Team was :- Laura Broadbent (eight goals), Alice Senior (two goals), Heleena Egan, Ellie Kissane, Jenny Senior, Tanisha Barrett, Jade Thomas, Paola Cavellaro, and
goalkeeper Rosie Hetherington.
