Under 11's and 12's-Within League Rules
Continue individual soccer skills and team work coaching, concentrate on technical ability and tactics, monitor improvement of and promote individuals responsibility for improvement. Increase the stretching routines to include light stamina training, continue warm up and cool down sessions before and after games as well as training sessions. Begin to place players in positions of play (for continuity) but still move them around within the team occasionally. Organise into 1st and 2nd teams (within league rules), 1st team coach to have first pick of the age group, players not required for 1st team duty in that week to be included in the 2nd team squad. Continue the theme that winning is fun without pressure to succeed, success is expected more in 1st team than in the 2nd.
Where possible play friendly games where the 1st and 2nd teams can be mixed to make up teams, this promotes teamwork throughout the age group, training games would be a good starting point for this. All players in these age groups to train together.

u11 Match Reports

25 Sept 05
Clough u11 girl's came out comfortable 4-0 winners against Pool Girls. Player of the Match Rosie Hetherington scoring 3 in the first half and some good passing from Heleena Egan and Jade Fisher-Wilkins creating more chances. In the second half Poole came out stronger with Tanisha Barrett having to make 2 good saves. Poala Cavallaro and Amelia Hammell both doing well  in defence before a good passing movement gave Levi McLeod her first Clough goal.

Clough girl's B Team  with 4 Debutant and 2 goal keepers playing outfield lost 7-0 to Batley Girls. Clough started well with Casey Brooke going close early on. Batley scored 2 quick goals, Ellie Kissane excellent in goal but it was hard work for Olivia and Tanisha in defence. Rhiannon Sheehan went off injured and Batley scored 3 more before half time. The second half Clough played well with Emily Bretton and Jenny doing well in midfield but Batley scored 2 more late goals.

Clough Girls u11's lost 5-1 to Lepton Highlanders with a slow start by Clough saw them go 3 down after only few minutes which goalkeeper Tanisha Barrett couldn't do anything about. Clough finally got going with Rosie Hetherington, Ellie Kissane making some strong runs, and striker Lauren Slater came close but the Lepton keeper made some good saves. They kicked the ball down field and a Lepton player hit a long range goal. In the second half Levi McLeod scored a solo goal to give  Clough a life line, but it was up to player of the day Jade Fisher-Wilkins and the solid Poala Cavallaro to defend for the last 10 mins to keep the score

Clough girls u11's B Team lost 1-0 to Batley in a vast improvement from a fortnight ago when Batley won 8-1. New girls Jenny Senior and player of the day Olivia Lajca impressing bur with only one mistake in defence cost Clough. Captain on the day Emily Bretton strong in defence and Ellie Kissane started well in the second half with Rhiannon Sheehan making some strong runs that put Tanisha Barrett into space and allowing Emma Cawtheray to shoot just wide of the goal. It was a pleasure to see both teams play some attractive football.

Howden Clough Under11 girls lost 5-1 to Batley girls in a first half that they didn't seem to get into gear.Having to swap Tanisha Barrett from goal to play outfield and what a difference this made to the team. All her Team seemed to show how  good they can play with new keeper Ellie Kissane inspired and Player of the Game Olivia Lajca scoring a fine goal. Jenny Senior and Heleena Egan both coming close. Levi McLeod, Rosie Hetherington and Jade Fisher-Wilkins all having an excellent second half.

Howden Clough u11's played there best football of the season with an impressive all round performance, beating a good skilful Dewsbury Rangers team 1-0. In a game played with good spirit. Both teams missed good chances. A solid defence of Poala Cavallaro, Jenny Senior and Heleena Egan laid a platform for the Clough Strikers to attack and a good goal from Olivia Lajca 10 mins from time,  after good work from Player of the day Ellie Kissane and a fine passing by Jenny Senior. A last minute save from Tanisha Barrett gave clough the points. Some fine performances from Levi Mcleod and Rosie Hetherington

A  Howden Clough and Dewsbury Rangers mixed side played a friendly match against a Clough side who came out on top 8-1. A hatrick from Laura Broadbent and usual keeper Emma Cawtheray playing outfield scoring two. A second half Clough struggled with the slope but a tired side allowed the pace of Alice Senior to score two and the skill and strength of Sammy Walsh to score. There was also some strong play from Captain of the day Emily Bretton, Rhiannon Sheehan, Lauren Slater and Debutant Casey Brooke. A Big thank you to Dewsbury Girls for making it a good Sunday morning.

20 Nov 05
Howden Clough U11 girl's had an emphatic 10-0 win against a Farsley Celtic side. Clough started very brightly scoring goals with there first 2 attacks, after that it was all one way in the first half. Goalkeeper Tanisha Barrett didn't touch the ball once.  4 goals a piece from Levi Mcleod  and Olivia Lajca setting the standard. second half Farsley made changes and put Clough's defenders Ellie Kissane, Poala Cavallero and Rosie Hetherington under a bit more pressure, but it was down to Player of the Day Jenny Senior who set up at least 4 goals with some fine strong running. Heleena Egan made a brace to make the game a   comfortable win. Clough should have scored more but for a Brilliant Farsley Goalkeeper.

  Howden Clough u11's
Clough, s first match back after the festive break saw the visit of a well organised Kirkburton side. In the first half, despite Clough playing arguably the best football with good passing from Levi Macleod, Heleena Egan and Jenny Senior, they found themselves 4-0 down due to catalogue of defensive errors. Tanisha Barrett tried hard in goals but was unable to stop the Kirkburton attack. In the second half it was a much improved and well organised Clough side that saw them only concede one goal. There was strong defending from player of the match Ellie Kissane and sweeper Paola Cavellero and some fine saves from second half keeper Heleena Egan. The Kirkburton keeper made some great saves from efforts from Olivia Lajca and Levi Macloed, and this together with good link up play from Lauren Slater should have reduced the deficit.

12 Feb 06
Howden Clough U11 Girl's drew 0-0 against Burley Trojan side that set out to play on the counter attack. Player of the day Jessica Burrow did well to dive to her right and keep out Burley's efforts on goal, and at the other ends Clough had lots of chances from Levi Mcleod, Helleena Egan and Olivia Lajca. But the Burley defence and keeper held firm. There was some strong running from Poala Cavallerro, Jade Fisher-Wilkins and Ellie Kissane but overall a draw was a good result.

Howden Clough B team played out a thriller against a good Wigton Moor side, Clough going down 5-4 in what was and end to end thriller. Debutants Nadia Midernott, Kate Pichowcz and Grace Farrar all played well. Clough went into the break 4-0 down. What a second half with Player of the day Lucy Cawtheray's hat trick made it 4-3 and with 5 mins to go from the kick off Wigton scored to pull further away. Then a fine solo effort from Grace Farrar made it 5-4 the the last kick of the game Wigton keeper tipped a long range shot over the bar. There was some good games from Emily Bretton, Tanisha  Barrett and Casey Brook. A special mention to Finty Kissane for coming as a substitute but didn't get a game.
