Howden Clough Ladies 2-2 Collingham

Clough battled well in the first period against the swirling wind. Stacy
Wood, Kirsty Glyde, Sarah Whitehead and Fiona Hill were superb throughout
and keeper Jenny Turner commanded her area well. After a goalless first
period Collingham broke and took the lead from a goalmouth scramble. Soon
after Clough were caught napping as Collingham added a second.
Clough, to their credit, stepped up play and Emma Lafanecheres breakaway
enabled her to fire past the oncoming keeper.
Cloughs determination shone through when Sam Coulthards looping shot bounced
over the keeper. In the dying seconds Clough could have grabbed the spoils
but Grace Holohan shot wide.

Clough Ladies got back to winning ways with a 4-1 win over Hebden Royd
Clough eager for victory started well with Emma Rutherford and Emma
Lafanechere a constant threat but was unable to convert chances created.
Royd briefly came into the game and a stunning shot was tipped over the bar
by keeper Jenny Turner Royd battled well and against the run of play took
the lead with a shot lofted over the keeper.
The re-start saw Clough change formation and a superb free kick from Stacey
Wood was parried by the keeper and Emma Rutherford grabbed the much needed
equalizer. Rutherford gave Clough the lead has she flicked the ball pass the
oncoming keeper. Clough added to their tally when Kirsty Glyde brought the
ball out of defence and hit a long pass to Grace Holohan to hit a left foot
shot pass the keeper Clough took command with Rutherford completing her hat
trick to give Clough the spoils Lucy Maude was the player of the game for
her dominance in midfield and Kirsty Glyde and Emma Walker shone throughout.

Clough swept into the next round of the West Riding Cup Women's Cup with an
emphatic victory.

Clough ladies were victors over Huddersfield Town Ladies 2-1 First period
Town started well creating several chances but were thwarted by superb
defending from Kirsty Glyde, Stacey Wood, Emma Walker and Sarah Whitehead,
Clough came more into the game with Grace Holohan and Sophie Carter coming
close It was against the run of play that town took the lead from a well
worked move down the right hand side Clough to their credit stepped up play
and a superb long range strike from Emma Rutherford found the equalizer for
clough.
Second period saw clough dominate with several chances squandered until late
on when Stacey Wood set off on a solo run and fired home to give clough a
well earned victory.

Hemsworth 0 v 6 Howden Clough Ladies
Clough Ladies booked their place in the West Riding League Cup quarter
finals with a superb 6-0 victory over Hemsworth Ladies From the start Clough
measured up their opponents and started to explore their weaknesses and took
the lead as Helen Wagstaffs shot rebounded off the keeper for Emma
Rutherford to head home Shortly after Wagstaff made it two curling the ball
home from a corner Just before the interval Sam Coulthard long range strike
was deflected into the net to make the half time lead 3-0
Second period Clough dominated the game and a through ball from Lucy Maude
enabled Rutherford to round the keeper to grab her second Rutherford
completed her hat-trick from a superb turn and strike giving the keeper
little chance Cloughs Grace Holohans cheeky flick over the oncoming defender
and driving low under the keeper made up the tally Player of the match went
to Fiona Hill
Silsden 5 v 6 Howden Clough Ladies
Clough Ladies ran out 6-5 winners in a thrilling encounter with close rivals
Silsden .Silsden started the stronger but were unable to break through the
Clough defence and against the run of play Grace Holohans run up the right
hand side resulted in her cutting inside and firing home a superb shot to
give Clough the lead Silsden raised their game and grabbed the equalizer
from a corner and shortly after took the lead.
Second period Clough started to dominate and levelled up the score with Emma
Lafanechere heading home from Helen Wagstaffs corner, Wagstaff then gave
Clough the lead with a superb strike and Emma Rutherford scored Cloughs
fourth after springing the offside trap Stacey Wood broke through and gave
Clough a 5-2 lead.
Clough started to ease off and Silsden came back into the game scoring twice
making it 5-4 Wood completed her brace firing low pass the oncoming keeper
and before Clough could settle Silsden pulled another one back to make it
6-5 Clough had to battle to hard to the final whistle

Clough Ladies booked their place in the West Riding League cup semi finals
with a 5-4 victory over Farsley Celtic Clough struggled to find form in the
first period and Farsley capitalized on a defensive mix up to take the lead
Clough soon hit back with Sam Coulthard equalising from an Helen Wagstaff
corner Farsley always looked threatening and scored twice to take a
3-1interval lead The re start saw Clough step up play and pulled one back
through Emma Rutherford but Farsley increased their lead to 4-2 Clough
raised their game and Rutherford completed her brace hitting low into the
bottom corner Helen Wagstaff levelled the score with a superb drive and in
the closing minutes Coulthard hit the winner Player of the game went to
Helen Wagstaff for her composer in midfield

Clough Ladies moved into second place with a 4-0 victory over Collingham
Ladies From the start Clough took control and a a fine move between Grace
Holohan and Kirsty Glyde set up Emma Lafanechere to give Clough a deserved
lead Collingham exerted pressure on the Clough defence but stout defending
from Stacey Wood Emma Walker Sarah Whitehead and Glyde denied them a chance
to grap an equalizer The re start saw Cloughs midfield start to dominate
with Helen Wagstaff and Lucy Maude in fine form and Clough increased the
lead as Wood broke from midfield and made a superb cross for Lafanechere to
hit home Shortly after Lafanechere completed her hat trick converting a
through ball from Wagstaff Late on a defensive scramble led to Sam Coulthard
scooping the ball over the oncoming keeper.

Clough Ladies closed the gap to two points between the league leaders with a
victory over Huddersfield Town Ladies
Both teams were evenly matched creating several chances but Clough broke the
deadlock with Emma Rutherford latching onto a superb through ball from
Stacey Wood to give Clough a first half lead The restart saw Town working
hard for the equalizer but Clough soaked up the pressure and Helen Wagstaff
and Lucy Maude started to take charge of midfield and a great run from Sarah
Wood resulted with a fine cross which saw Rutherford grabbing her second
Town to their credit raised their game but keeper Jennie Turner commanded
the area well until a goal mouth scramble enabled Town to pull one back
Clough again had to defend well but a fine solo goal from Lucy Maude put the
game beyond Towns reach

Despite a brave effort Howden Clough Ladies lost out 3-0 to Yorkshire &
Humberside premier side Huddersfield Town in the West Riding County Womens
cup quater finals From the start Town exerted pressure enabling Clough to
settle and could have taken an early lead but but stout defending from
Stacey Wood,Emma Walker,Sam Coulthard and Sarah Whitehead kept them at bay
until a long range effort gave keeper Jennie Turner little chance as town
broke the deadlock Late into the first period Towns strength started to show
as they went into a 3-0 interval lead Second period Clough raised their game
with Helen Wagstaff and Heidi Halloran working well in midfield and good
work from Kirsty Glyde and Emma Lafanechere down the flanks created chances
but Clough were unable to convert

Clough Ladies moved to within three points of the
league leaders with a 5-3 victory over Collingham Ladies Clough exerted
early pressure but failed to convert early chances and against the run of
play Collingham took the lead despite a brave effort from keeper Jennie
Turner The lead though was short lived as centre back Stacey Wood made a
solo run from well inside her own half and slotted the ball pass the
oncoming keeper for Clough to level Clough then took the lead as debutant
Bianca Pivniceru created space at the edge of the goal area and fired home
Just before the interval Collingham levelled the score from a corner
The re start saw Clough start to settle and
Pivnicerus cheeky lob over the keeper put Clough in front shortly after
Pinniceru completed her hat trick and Lucy Maudes fine near post header from
Helen Wagstaffs corner made it 5-2 Collingham to their credit battled well
pulled one back to 5-3 but clough earned a well deserved victory

Clough ladies hit double figures with a 10-0 victory against Hebden Royd
Hebden battled well but as Clough started to settle took command of the game
and Bianca Pivniceru gave clough the lead after a well worked move Clough
started to dominate and further goals from Sarah Wood, Stacey Wood and a
superb volley from Pivniceru made it four and Emma Rutherford capitalized on
a defensive error to give Clough a 5-0 interval lead
Second period saw Sarah Wood grabbing her second with a superb header from
an Emma Rutherford cross and Stacey Woods superb solo run increased the lead
Shortly after a through ball from Helen Wagstaff enabled Sarah Wood to
complete her hat trick Rutherford then completed her brace and Pivniceru
completed her hat trick to round up the score

The start saw both teams evenly matched produced some expellant football and
it was Clough who broke the deadlock with a superb pass from Lucy Maude
found Emma Rutherford who chipped the ball over the oncoming keeper to give
Clough the lead Cloughs were caught on the rebound when shortly after West
End grabbed the equalizer The re-start saw both teams try to dominate
midfield and Cloughs Helen Wagstaff, Sarah Wood and Lucy Maude
battling well but the visitors took the lead from a defensive scramble and
grabbed a third shortly after Clough worked hard to pull one back but West
End grabbed two late goals Stacey Wood, Emma Walker and Sam Coulthard were
outstanding for Clough

Howden Clough Ladies will meet an undefeated West End in the West Riding
League cup final this coming Sunday at Thornes Juniors after a 4 -1 semi
final victory over Huddersfield town ladies Huddersfield took the lead early
on after immense pressure on Cloughs defence but as Clough settled started
to create chances and grabbed the equaliser with Emma Rutherfords superb run
down the line and cross, was met by Sarah Wood to volley home then Late in
the first period Stacey Wood broke from defence and slotted the ball pass
the oncoming keeper for a 2-1 interval lead
Cloughs midfield pair Helen Wagstaff and Lucy Maude started to dominate and
a through ball to Rutherford saw her cross met by Bianca Pivniceru firing
home for a 3-1 lead Town made three substitutions and stepped up play but
stout defending from Emma Walker, Sam Coulthard, Sarah Whitehead, Kirsty
Glyde and Keeper Jennie Turner commanding the area weathered the storm Late
on Sarah Wood broke away and made no mistake sealing victory for Clough
