1st4 Sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football (FA Club Coach)
Who is the course for?
Managers and coaches of club teams aged 7 - 16 years of age. Prospective candidates for the 1st 4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football (FA). Youth leaders and prospective youth leaders. Colleges of FE students. Minimum age 16 years.
Course Objectives On completion of the course the candidates should be able to:
*	Promote and establish working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, coaches, parents and officials in the overall development of Association Football.
*		Achieve an awareness of related aspects regarding children's football including:
*		Child Protection.
*		Laws of the Game.
*		Player Development.
*		Club Administration.
*		Display competence in Emergency Aid.
*		Introduce youngsters in Under 11 years of age to Mini Soccer and promote its benefits for this age group.
*		Organise and supervise 23 fun football game-like activities including Mini Soccer, small-sided games and conditioned games.
*		Obtain an awareness of further training opportunities for football coaching, medical and refereeing awards.
Course Content (23 hours (15 hours contact time, 8 hours distance learning))
Seminar Discussion
*		Child Protection.
*		Emergency Aid.
Practical Sessions
*		Introduction of the 23 fun practice games
*		Planning and practice. Organising training sessions.
*		Fitting the game and progressing to the needs of the children.
Distance Learning (some available online, all on hard copy)
*		Soccer Parent (online).
*		Laws of the Game (cd rom).
*		Player Development (manual).
*		Club Administration (manual).
Assessment (8 hours)
*		Successful completion of the Distance Learning Modules (40 question paper).
*		Successful completion of the Emergency Aid module.
*		Successful completion of the Child Protection module.
*		Complete an assessed coaching session on one of the 26 games.

A.P.L.
Candidates with equivalent current Emergency Aid qualification of F.A. Child Protection are not required to attend those sessions.
